    A special Diwali performance celebrating Classical Indian music. Doors will open at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start and the concert will finish around 9.00 pm. WHAT TO EXPECT: Melodic notes and scintillating rhythms flow between the instruments like a lively and often thoughtful conversation. This performance is based within the Raga (melody) and Taala (rhythm) system of Classical Indian music. THE MUSICIANS: Disciples of great master musicians in India with whom they have studied for over 30 years, Bobby and Adrian belong to unbroken lineages that go back many centuries. Bobby Singh  is considered one of the world’s most experienced tabla players and is a highly respected musician in Australia’s world music scene. Bobby studied in Mumbai under Aneesh Pradhan, one of the most sought after tabla players in the world. He is renowned internationally for his work that straddles the divide between tradition and modernity.  Adrian McNeil hails from Melbourne. For more than two decades he trained intensively on the sarod under Ashok Roy, a senior disciple of maestro Ali Akbar Khan. Adrian’s playing follows the Maihar gharana of Hindustani music. He performs extensively in Australia.
